What are Downtown Communities?

Downtown Communities are groups of people united through Christian fellowship, spiritual growth, and witness to a particular mission. People connect naturally around similar interests, hobbies, and experiences. Downtown Communities facilitate friendships through these connections. Scroll down to view our full list of Downtown Communities. Each Downtown Community reflects our passions and where we hope to bring forth change.

Why Downtown Communities?

We value relationships, spiritual growth and service. Our groups meet throughout Bentonville and its surrounding cities at church, homes, and public areas. We are mission-driven in a manner that is both enjoyable and manageable. From the youngest to the young at heart, anyone can be involved if they have a passion for transformation.

When can I join a Downtown Community?

Spiritual Gifts Assessment

“A spiritual gift is given to each of us so that we may help each other.”
1 Cor. 12:7

Yes! You have many God-given gifts. Let us help you develop those gifts. The Spiritual Gifts Assessment helps individuals identify their God-given gifts for living faithfully as Christian disciples. The process helps people understand the nature of spiritual gifts and ways to enhance the effectiveness of their gifts by linking together with others.

If you’re interested in learning more about your spiritual gifts, click here, for a Spiritual Gifts Assessment. Learn what gifts God has given you so you may use them to honor Him.

Prayer Team

Our Intercessory Prayer Team will be happy to pray for you or for any prayer requests you may have.  If you’d like to send a prayer request or if you are interested in being part of our prayer team please email prayerteam@fumcbentonville.org or submit a prayer request through our Prayer Request page.

My Christian Path

I’ve read too many Christian books that are fluff! How about you? Are you ready for the good stuff, the books that will let God transform the way you see the world? Are you ready to dive into a seminary-level education without having leave your house? This is the curriculum for you! First of all, let me state that there is no such thing as self-guided Christianity.  God is guiding us even if we can’t yet sense God in any way. Secondly, God is calling us to live and study in community. This curriculum is most powerful when you have another person, or a group of people with whom to discuss what you are learning. However, God is also calling us to dedicate our lives to the divine relationship. And a powerful way to do so is to devote time every day to reading and studying about, and with God. That is the reason I created this curriculum for you. I am praying that God will fill you with a deep desire to see and to hear in ever new ways.

Rev. Eric Meyer
