UMCOR Sager Brown, Louisiana, February 2-7, 2025 Mission Trip Registration
After the tornados and high winds ripped through NWA in May, we experienced the relief that UMCOR provides when disaster hits; so we know how valuable their work is. Our church will be leading another team to Sager Brown Feb 2-7, 2025, to support this important work by helping in their current area of need. Each year the work is slightly different but last year we helped pack relief kits, performed light construction, and assisted in outreach opportunities in town. While this is a working mission trip, it is also a faith filled week with an opportunity for a spiritual retreat because we have rest time for reflection and devotion throughout our stay. We also have one day for sightseeing. As we meet other groups who travel in, we grow closer in relationship to one another, to others and to Christ as we reflect and work together.
In February 2024, our church sent a team of 12 to the UMCOR Sager Brown Mission in Baldwin, Louisiana and we have room to take 16 this year! The cost is $330.00 per person including meals and lodging. Transportation and sightseeing are not included but we will try to coordinate as a group. Full payment is required at registration and refunds are not guaranteed for cancellation. Sign-up deadline is October 25, 2024.

In this session, we will use Invitation to Romans: A Participant Book by Pamela Michelle Eisenbaum. You may order it ahead or I will have a few books at our first class. Charge Conference and Chili Supper Monday, October 28
Mark your calendar and plan to attend our church’s Charge Conference Monday, October 28 at 6:30 pm in Hines Hall. Calling All Writers! Write for next year's Lenten Devotional
We are seeking people who are willing to write for the Lenten Devotional that will go with this year's series that we will make available to other churches. This year's theme is Mitigated Disaster. We will view the crucifixion as humanity's greatest disaster, and the resurrection as its full mitigation. We will also reflect on our own community's experience with disaster recovery. Writers will be assigned a passage to reflect on, and passages only need to be 150-250 words. Share your perspective, and make a difference in the faith lives of others! To sign up, click here!
Save Your Bottlecaps!
Art and Faith are working on an art project and they need your bottlecaps! Save them from soda and disposable water bottles (though we do encourage you to use a refillable water bottle) and bring them to put in the collection points at church (office and coffee hour area). Let's make something beautiful out of our trash!
