Staff Talent Showcase and Chili Supper!
Sunday, February 4, 2024

Have you ever wondered what secret or not-so-secret talents are hidden in our fantastic staff here at FUMC Downtown Bentonville? Now is your chance to find out! Our staff invites you to a Staff Talent Showcase on Sunday, February 4 in Hines Hall. We will also have a Chili Supper provided by the talented cooks in our Chancel Choir. The Showcase and Chili Supper are free and open to all. A free-will offering will be taken to support the FUMC Scholarship Fund. The Chili Supper will begin at 5:30p with the Talent Showcase beginning at 6:00p. Can Pastor Michelle really juggle? Come and find out what wonderful hidden talents your staff possess, have some great chili, and support the Scholarship Fund!

Mental Health First Aid Training
Saturday, February 17th, 8am-5pm

Sign up to attend this 8 hour training on how to respond to someone who is in a mental health crisis. You will learn useful skills and information that take some of the fear and anxiety out of responding. You may also aid in keeping a situation from escalating. Lunch will be provided. Registration deadline is Sunday, February 4. There is no charge for this training, as it is being sponsored by The Mixers Sunday school class, but the number of people allowed is limited, so please sign up here to hold your space.

Supporting UMCOR through Relief Kits

We have a group of 12 people traveling on a mission to Sager Brown (UMCOR facility) February 4-9. The group will do a variety of jobs including putting together hygiene kits. Each participant needs to bring supplies for at least 1 kit or $50. If your family would like to support this mission, here is the list of items needed:

1. One hand towel (15 x 25 –17 x 27 inches, No kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels)
2. One washcloth (No kitchen, cleaning, or microfiber towels)
3. One comb (Must be sturdy with at least 4-7 inches of teeth, no pocket combs or picks, rattail and combs without handles are acceptable but must have at least 4-7 inches of teeth).
4. One toenail or fingernail clipper (No emery boards or metal nail files)
5. Bath-size soap (3 oz. bar or larger, No Ivory or Jergen’s soap, Do not remove from packaging).
6. One adult toothbrush (Do not remove from packaging. Personal advertising not acceptable)
7. 10 adhesive bandages (¾ by 3 inches)
8. One one-gallon size re-sealable bag.

You can also contribute toward the cost of the kits by submitting a check or cash indicating it is for Sager Brown or make an online gift with Sager Brown in the notes. Please make your gift by February 1.
